This cemetery is south of Yellow Pine, west of the Johnson Creek Road, overlooking Johnson Creek. Yellow Pine campground is to the south. The early settlement was to the north and east and many of the old foundations are still visible. At one time there was a landing strip across Johnson Creek. I've heard that graves were relocated from across the river, but I don't know a way to verify that story. The Forest Service issued a Special Use Permit fo the cemetery in 1956. Today some of the markers are memorial markers rather than grave markers.
