Merle “Mick” Moore Jr., 56, of McCall, suffered a sudden and traumatic death by natural causes at his home on Feb. 1, 2012.

Merle was born in Aurora, Ill., on Nov. 7, 1955 to Merle Moore, M.D. and Ann Moore Jones. He moved to Idaho as an infant.
He went to school at Salmon and graduated from Boise State University with a degree in biology.
Mick was very active in sports. He bowled a 212 as a child, he played football and won a medal in disc throwing.
He worked for the Forest Service as a smokejumper in McCall until his retirement.
Mick married Cathy Graham, a beloved teacher and person. Cathy preceded him in death. Mick and Cathy had no children but had great love for their German Shepherds.
Survivors include his mother, Anne Moore Jones of Idaho Falls; a sister, Pamela Holenbeck of Idaho Falls; a brother Paul Moore of Idaho Falls; and nephews Aaron Gatt, Tell, Tyler and Trent Holenbeck of Idaho Falls.
In lieu of flowers, it would be Mick’s wish that a donation be made to MCPAWS Regional Animal Shelter.
