Frances (McCall) Miller

Frances Ilene Miller, 91, passed away, July, 2, 2011, in Eagle.

A private family gathering will be held in her honor.

Cremation services are under the direction of Chapel of the Chimes Funeral Home, Meridian.

Frances was born July, 23, 1919, in McCall, Idaho, to Benjamin and Ida May McCall. She was one of six children.

They homesteaded at Payette Lakes, where the town of McCall was named for them.

Her grandfather, Tom McCall built the first sawmill, was appointed the town’s first postmaster, mayor, and built the first hotel. Frances was the last surviving McCall.

Frances was married to Irvin Miller. They met in McCall and later married on May 22, 1937, in Klamath Falls, Ore. They lived on a farm in Ontario, Ore., for most of their 60 years together.

Frances was known for the 6 a.m. breakfasts she would cook for the dozens of hunters that came during pheasant season.

Frances is survived by her three children, Ben Miller, Jacqueline Reed, Jerry Miller (Judy); her five grandchildren, Jake Miller, Amy Miller (Trey), Jon Miller (Sara), Andy Satalich (Veronica), Ted Morris (Cari); and four great-grandchildren, Sam, Seth, Kylie, and Payton.

Frances was preceded in death by her husband, Irvin, her parents, three brothers and two sisters.

Memorials may be made to the charity of your choice.
