Michael Alex Smith

Michael Alex Smith, 65, of McCall, passed away of natural causes on March 7, 2012, at home.

He was born on Jan. 16, 1947, in Fayetteville, Ark., to Charles and Jeane Smith. He was the oldest of four. He loved music early on and traveled extensively with his guitar chasing his dreams.

He first came to McCall in the 1960s and called it home. After serving his country from 1966 to 1970 as an aircraft mechanic, he then came back to McCall where he played lead guitar in his band “4 of a Kind.”

His musical dreams took him all over the U.S., including Oregon, California, Wisconsin, and everywhere in between. He finally settled back in McCall, where he started at family and a new band, “Moonlight Drive.”

Five kids later he was a great father, loving husband and the best Grandpa a kid could ask for.

He is preceded in death by his parents and baby sister. He leaves behind five kids and nine grandchildren. He will be missed.

He played his guitar every day along with daily Bible reading, and now Heaven will sound even better with Dad rippin’ his Fender Stratocaster. We love you, Pops!
