JoAnn Raiser

JoAnn Raiser, 80, of Rancho Cordova, Calif., passed away peacefully with her son and daughter at her side on Oct. 17, 2012 and went to collect God’s promised rewards.

Memorial services will be conducted Saturday, Oct. 27, at 1 p.m. at Cordova Neighborhood Church located 10600 Coloma Rd., Rancho Cordova, Calif

Graveside service will be conducted Saturday, Oct. 27, at 2 p.m. at Margaret Cemetery in Cascade.

JoAnn was born in Denver, Colo., to Gerald and Dorothy. She attended most of her schooling in Victorville, Calif., graduating in 1949. It was there that she met and later married Norman Raiser.

She was a person with a strong will and had survived many health battles over the years but surrendered her will. JoAnn enjoyed life and strived to do all she could to bring God’s love and happiness to others.

JoAnn spent her early working career at Mather AFB. After retiring, she spent much of her time and energy performing charitable activities, most of which included her arts and craft skills.

She later choose to work with the Student Care Program. This group became her second family and she brought joy and happiness to many children there with her good will and crafting projects, as well as herself.

JoAnn was preceded in death by her father, Gerald; her ex-husband, Norman; her eldest son, N. Scott; and her sister, Janet.

She is survived by her mother, Dorothy; her son Steven (Brenda); her daughter, Susan (Vernon); eight grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and many beloved second family members.
