David Allen Kolsy

David Allen Kolsky, 58, died peacefully July 20, 2012 with his family at his side after an extended period of poor health and a short illness.

Services will be conducted on Thursday, Aug. 9, at 10:30 a.m. at Relyea Funeral Chapel, 318 North Latah in Boise.

He was born in Waterloo, Iowa, Oct. 2, 1953, the oldest son of Norma and Darrell Kolsky.

They later moved to Salmon and then to Nampa, where he attended elementary school and graduated from Nampa High School.

He was joined eventually by a brother and sister to make the family complete. His beloved sister died in March of this year, so his loss leaves a large space in the lives of his family.

He served his country in the U.S. Army, mostly in Germany, and on his return spent a year in college and settled on plumbing as a vocation.

He worked for several years in Boise in the plumbing business and Crawford’s Hyde Park Plumbing. He moved to McCall and was owner, operator of Alpine Plumbing for almost 25 years.

He married Tammy McClain in Nampa in 1982 and they were blessed with three daughters, Sarah, Heidi and Emily. Tammy and David were divorced recently but Tammy was concerned and took an active part in making David’s final days as easy as possible.

David loved his family and his idea of a perfect day was a good fishing trip accompanied by a daughter or two.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Norma, and his sister Becky.

He is survived by his daughters, Sarah and Heidi Kolsky of McCall, and Emily Kolsky of Boise; two grandsons, Deakon Heatherington and Jaxson Kolsky of McCall; his brother Jerry Kolsky of McCall; his father, Darrell Kolsky (Mary) of Donnelly and Star; and his forever brother-in-law and sister-in-law Johnny and Sarah McClain of McCall plus cousins, nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles.

Special thanks to Kim and Joe Dalrymple, Hospice of McCall (especially Nancy), Dr. Dardis of McCall, his brother Jerry and all the other folks who made David’s transition as comfortable as possible.
