Iris Bernice Petersen

Iris Bernice Petersen, 93, passed away at The Cottages in Emmett on Jan. 16, 2011.

Services will be held Friday, Jan. 21, 2011 at 1 p.m. at the Cascade Community Church under the direction of Heikkila Funeral Chapel.

She was born in Nampa, Idaho on May 15, 1917, to Henry and Lela Robbins. She attended public schools and graduated from Payette High School in 1934.

She married Burton Scott in 1935 and they moved to Cascade to make their home.

She was preceded in death by her husbands, Burton Scott in 1964, Clarence Potter in 1977 and Lorenz Petersen in 1992; sisters, Inez Robbins, Fern Keiffer, Joyce May Sherrill; and a baby grandson.

She was a public servant for Valley County for many years and Valley County Assessor from 1956 to 1965. She joined Eastern Star Valera Chapter No. 74 in 1982. She had many hobbies, loved the outdoors, hunting and fishing, her garden, and cherished her flowers.

She enjoyed traveling, history, reading, making quilts and fancy work. Always busy hands.

She is survived by her son, Robert (Patricia) Scott; grandson, Dale Scott, Pamela (Denys) Murphy; three great granddaughters, Laken (Dave) Fulton, Mickinna (Jesse) Green and Hilarie Murphy; one great-great-grandson, Rowan Green.

She had three step children, Duane (Donna) Petersen, Joyce (Johnny) Johnson and Darlene (JP) Morgan; and many nieces and nephews.
