Charlie John (Jack) Hart Jr.

Charlie John (Jack) Hart Jr., 78, former of Cascade, passed away peacefully at the VA Medical Center of Boise on Dec. 9, 2011.

At Jack’s request, there will be no services. A memorial gathering will be held at the American Legion Post in Cascade at a later date.

Jack was born Feb. 6, 1933, in Kuna to Charlie & Alyce (Tillie) Hart. He grew up in the Kuna-Meridian area, attending Meridian schools.

He joined the Navy in 1951, serving on the destroyer USS Maddox (DD731) during the Korean Conflict. In 1957 he fell in love with and married Sonja Daniel, and of this union had three sons, Scott, Forrest and Jimmy. From a previous marriage he was blessed with a daughter, Donna.

Jack, along with his family, farmed in the Nampa-Meridian area until 1965 when he began working for C. Wright Construction in Meridian, where he worked until retiring to Round Valley in Cascade in 1989. He resided there with his family and friends until his death.

Jack is survived by his wife Sonja, sons Forrest and Jimmy (Doris), his daughter Donna, brother Floyd Hart, sister Jenny (Bill) Shipley, sister-in- law Georgia Hart, and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Jack was preceded in death by a son Scott, his parents and his brothers, Charlie E. (Ed) Hart and William S. (Bill) Hart.
